The best whiskies

The best whiskies under €100

With up to €100 almost the whole catalogue comes in: single malts of 15 years or more, older smoky whiskies, special-cask releases and a good share of the Japanese ones. It’s a good budget for a treat or for a gift to remember. Each whisky’s flavour profile helps you choose wisely.

How we make this list

We rank the whiskies by the community’s votes (“Love it”, “Like it” or “Don’t like it”), adjusted for how many each one has: that way, two enthusiastic votes don’t jump ahead of two hundred. There are still few votes, so for now the easiest to find in Spain go first. The order never depends on what we earn.

The price is a guide (the usual one in Spain) until we can compare it across shops: check it before you buy.

“Es posible que este sea mi whisky favorito. Me parece de lo mejor que hay dentro de los ahumados clásicos de Islay. Y además no se han "ido a la parra" con el precio.”

  4. Islay, Scotland

    Laphroaig Quarter Cask

Here Laphroaig revives an old technique: after maturing in bourbon casks, the whisky moves into small casks, a quarter of the size, where contact with the wood is greater.
