What it’s like

One of the editions in Glenfiddich’s experimental series that breaks with the house style: it combines smoky malt with unpeated malt and finishes its maturation in casks that held rum. The result plays both sides, with bonfire smoke on one hand and caramel, toffee and tropical fruit on the other. It is a very accessible way to try smoke without Islay’s intensity, and an interesting curiosity for those who know the classic Glenfiddich.

Nose
Bonfire smoke, caramel and tropical fruit, with a touch of apple.
Palate
Sweet and smoky. Toffee, brown sugar and soft smoke, with spice.
Finish
Medium, with sweet smoke, toasted caramel and a final touch of spice.
