What it’s like

BenRiach’s core malt combines whisky matured in three types of cask: bourbon, sherry and virgin oak. The result is a fruity, versatile Speyside, with apple, peach, honey and a hint of sweet spice and toasted malt. It has no smoke; the distillery keeps its smoky notes for its Smoky version. It is a very complete option for those who want a malt with a few more nuances than the area’s basic malts at a reasonable price.

Nose
Apple, peach and honey, with vanilla and a touch of spice.
Palate
Rounded and fruity. Orchard fruit, toasted malt and caramel.
Finish
Medium, sweet and spicy, with a hint of oak and ripe fruit.
