Tomatin was once one of the largest distilleries in Scotland and now makes Highland malts with very good value for money. The twelve-year-old combines traditional whisky casks and sherry casks, and is smooth and fruity: apple, pear, honey and some dried fruit, with a touch of spice. It has no smoke. It is a highly recommendable option for those after a balanced malt without spending much.
