Tamnavulin Double Cask

Tamnavulin is a Speyside distillery that for decades worked almost exclusively for Whyte & Mackay’s blends. Its Double Cask matures in American oak casks and finishes in oloroso sherry casks. It is sweet, smooth and fruity, with apple, toffee and a touch of dried fruit. No smoke. One of the cheapest malts in the supermarket, and very rewarding.

Nose

Apple, toffee, raisins and vanilla, with a touch of cinnamon.

Palate

Smooth and sweet. Fresh and dried fruit, caramel and soft spice.

Finish

Short to medium, sweet, with a hint of sherry and caramel.
