What it’s like

The lightest of Macallan’s twelve-year-olds. It combines sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks with bourbon casks, so the sherry stays in the background and vanilla, citrus and fresh fruit come forward. No smoke. It is a fresher, less intense Macallan than Sherry Oak, ideal for those who prefer smooth, bright whiskies.

Vanilla, lemon peel, apple and a touch of ginger and toffee.
Palate
Smooth and balanced. Citrus, vanilla, ripe fruit and light oak.
Finish
Medium, clean and somewhat spicy, with a hint of caramel.
