What it’s like

Since the veteran Billy Walker took over the distillery, GlenAllachie has earned a reputation for its generous use of sherry casks. The twelve-year-old combines Pedro Ximénez, oloroso and virgin oak casks, and is bottled at 46% without chill filtration and without colouring, according to the brand. The result is indulgent and spicy: raisins, toffee, chocolate and cinnamon, with an oily texture. A malt with plenty of character for its price.
