What it’s like

Kilchoman is a small farm distillery on Islay, founded in 2005, that grows some of its own barley. Machir Bay, its main malt, combines mainly bourbon casks with a touch of sherry. It is young, fresh and smoky: peat smoke, lemon, vanilla and sea salt, with a fruity sweetness. It is a great way to get to know the more modern Islay and to see how good a young whisky can be.
