What it’s like

Scapa is Orkney’s other distillery, and its malt is usually unpeated. Glansa finishes its maturation in casks that held peated whisky, which gives it a soft, light smoke over the house’s fruity, honeyed profile. Its name is a local dialect word referring to the light after a storm. It is a friendly malt with a touch of smoke.

Nose
Fresh fruit, honey, vanilla and a thread of soft, briny smoke.
Palate
Smooth. Ripe fruit, caramel, vanilla and light smoke, with some salt.
Finish
Medium, sweet and smoky, with a hint of honey and spice.
