What it’s like

Bowmore No. 1 takes its name from the distillery’s No. 1 Vaults, one of the oldest warehouses in Scotland, right by the sea. It matures in first-fill bourbon casks and is Bowmore’s lightest side: vanilla, fruit, citrus and soft, sweet smoke, with a briny touch. It is a friendly Islay malt, good for starting with smoke.

Nose
Vanilla, citrus, soft peat smoke and a touch of sea salt.
Palate
Light and sweet. Vanilla, fresh fruit, caramel, smoke and salt, with no rough edges.
Finish
Medium, with sweet smoke, salt and a hint of vanilla and lemon.
