Method and Madness Single Pot Still

Method and Madness is Midleton’s experimental range, with whiskeys made by the house’s young distillers. Its pot still matures in bourbon and sherry casks and finishes in French chestnut casks, a very unusual wood. The chestnut brings spice, nuts and a sweet, earthy touch. It is bottled at 46% ABV. An original and very aromatic pot still.

Nose

Roasted chestnut, spice, ripe fruit and a touch of vanilla and honey.

Palate

Spicy. Nuts, pepper, fruit, toffee and cereal, with some vanilla.

Finish

Medium to long, spicy, with a hint of nuts.
