What it’s like

Michter's US*1 Sour Mash is an American whiskey that deliberately doesn’t meet the rules for bourbon or rye: its recipe blends corn and rye in proportions of its own. It uses the sour mash method, like almost all Kentucky whiskeys. It is spicy and fruity, with caramel, pepper, citrus and oak. A different and very balanced whiskey. It works neat, with an ice cube or in classic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned.

Nose
Caramel, pepper, orange and a touch of vanilla and oak.
Palate
Balanced. Spice, toffee, fruit, vanilla and toasted oak, with good body.
Finish
Medium, spicy and dry, with a hint of caramel and orange.
