What it’s like

New Riff’s rye uses a recipe of almost all rye, with a small share of malted rye, something unusual in Kentucky, where many ryes contain a fair amount of corn. It is bottled under the bottled-in-bond rules, at 50% ABV and without chill filtration. It is an intense, spicy rye, with pepper, mint, rye bread and fruit. Very good neat and in cocktails.

Nose
Pepper, mint, rye bread and a touch of fruit and caramel.
Palate
Intense. Spice, rye, herbs, toffee and toasted oak, with plenty of body.
Finish
Long, dry and spicy, with a hint of rye bread.
