What it’s like

Millstone is the whisky of Zuidam, a family distillery in Baarle-Nassau, in the Netherlands, also known for its gins and liqueurs. Its 100 Rye plays with the number one hundred: one hundred per cent rye, one hundred months in new American oak casks and 100 US proof, that is, 50% ABV. It is an intense, spicy European rye, with pepper, cinnamon, fruit and caramel.

Nose
Pepper, cinnamon, rye bread and a touch of fruit and caramel.
Palate
Intense. Spice, rye, toffee, ripe fruit and new oak, with plenty of body.
Finish
Long, spicy and warm, with a hint of toasted oak and spice.
