What it’s like

The eighteen-year-old from Yamazaki, Japan’s first malt distillery, is one of the most coveted malts in the world. It matures partly in sherry and Mizunara oak casks, and offers a deep, elegant profile: dried fruit, chocolate, spice, incense and very fine oak. No noticeable smoke. A collector’s bottle, scarce and very expensive.

Nose
Dried fruit, dark chocolate, incense, sandalwood and a touch of red fruit.
Palate
Deep. Raisins, cocoa, oriental spice, ripe fruit and elegant oak.
Finish
Very long, spicy and dry, with a hint of incense.
