What it’s like

Slane comes from Slane Castle, in County Meath, famous for its rock concerts, and now has its own distillery. Its blend matures in three types of cask: virgin oak, bourbon and oloroso sherry. The result is richer and spicier than the average Irish blend, with caramel, vanilla, dried fruit and spice. No smoke. Good neat, on the rocks or in cocktails.

Nose
Caramel, vanilla, dried fruit and a touch of cinnamon and oak.
Palate
Rounded. Toffee, spice, raisins, vanilla and cereal, with good body.
Finish
Medium, spicy, with a hint of caramel and dried fruit.
