What it’s like
Tamdhu matures all its whiskies in sherry-seasoned oak casks, according to the brand, something unusual even in Speyside. The twelve-year-old is indulgent and rounded, with raisins, candied orange, toffee and sweet spice, and a smooth texture. It has no smoke. It is a sherried malt less well known than Macallan or GlenDronach, with a lighter style and very good value for money.
