What it’s like

The Major's Reserve is Glen Grant’s entry malt and is named after James Grant, “the Major”, who ran the distillery in the Victorian era and filled it with inventions. It matures in bourbon casks and is a very light, fresh and fruity malt, with apple, pear, cereal and a floral touch. It has no smoke. It is one of the cheapest malts in the supermarket and a classic in Italy and Spain for getting started with single malt.

Nose
Green apple, pear, cereal and white flowers, with a touch of vanilla and lemon.
Palate
Light and fresh. Orchard fruit, soft honey, cereal and vanilla, with no rough edges.
Finish
Short and clean, with a hint of apple and sweet cereal.
