What it’s like

Glen Elgin is a Speyside distillery that supplies malt to the White Horse blends. Its official twelve-year-old is a classic-style malt: ripe fruit, honey, flowers and a touch of spice, with good texture. No smoke. It is little known outside enthusiast circles, but it offers a very friendly portrait of the region’s honeyed style. Best enjoyed neat.

Nose
Honey, ripe fruit, flowers and a touch of wax and spice.
Palate
Rounded. Fruit, honey, caramel, cereal and soft spice, with some vanilla.
Finish
Medium, sweet and somewhat spicy, with light oak and honey.
