What it’s like

The Raasay distillery, opened in 2017 on a small island off Skye, was the island’s first legal distillery. Its benchmark malt blends peated and unpeated spirit, matured in rye whiskey casks and finished in red wine casks. It has red fruit, light smoke, spice and a briny touch. It is a young, original and very aromatic malt.

Nose
Red berries, soft smoke, rye spice and a touch of salt.
Palate
Lively. Red fruit, caramel, pepper, light smoke and sea salt.
Finish
Medium to long, spicy and slightly smoky, with some fruit.
