What it’s like

Ardnamurchan is a young distillery on the westernmost peninsula of Great Britain, opened in 2014 by the independent bottler Adelphi. Its benchmark malt blends peated and unpeated spirit, matured in bourbon and sherry casks. It has soft smoke, salt, fruit and spice, with an oily texture. It is a modern, very balanced coastal malt. It takes a few drops of water well.

Nose
Soft smoke, sea salt, ripe fruit and a touch of vanilla.
Palate
Oily. Fruit, smoke, salt, caramel and spice, with a background of vanilla and pepper.
Finish
Long, briny and slightly smoky, with some pepper and fruit.
